IT Update

You may have heard that Beacon, the database provider that we (and hundreds of other charities) use to help manage information, has experienced a data security incident. We use Beacon to hold information such as your name, your contact details and a record of any donations you have made. We do not hold any bank or card details on Beacon.

At this stage, there is insufficient evidence to confirm that Juvenile Arthritis Research supporter or partner information has been affected. 

We reported the incident to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We will continue to monitor the situation closely and review any new information as it becomes available. We are following all guidance provided to ensure our data remains secure going forward. Our internal systems remain secure.

If there is anything supporters or partners need to know or any action they need to take, we will communicate this clearly and promptly.

It is always good practice to remain vigilant for any unexpected phone calls, messages and emails, and to take extra care clicking links or opening attachments in any emails that are unusual. There is useful advice on the National Cyber Security Centre website. If you receive anything suspicious, you can report it to Action Fraud  (in Scotland, report to Police Scotland on 101).

The safest way to donate to us is through our website. We will never call you to ask you to make a donation over the phone.
