Driven to inspire: Daniella Sutton joins Juvenile Arthritis Research as Official Ambassador

Today, on World Arthritis Day, we are absolutely delighted to announce that Daniella Sutton, a successful young female racing driver, has joined Juvenile Arthritis Research as our new official Ambassador. 

At just 17 years old, Daniella competes in motor sports at circuits all across the UK and became a BRDC Rising Star in 2025. BRDC is the British Racing Drivers’ Club for racecar drivers who are judged to have achieved success in the upper levels of motor sport for a number of seasons. Daniella is following in the footsteps of Sir Lewis Hamilton and Alex Lloyd who were previous BDRC Rising Stars. 

Daniella’s love for motorsport began at the age of 6 when her dad took her indoor karting for her birthday and she hasn’t looked back since! 

At the age of 12, Daniella was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) after experiencing random pains including a swollen ankle, shoulder pain, jaw pain and swollen joints in her hands. Determined not to let that stop her, Daniella is passionate about raising awareness of the condition and to let others with JIA know that their diagnosis does not define them. Her motto is “Racing without barriers” – for Daniella that not only relates to reaching the highest levels in her sport, with future ambitions to be selected for the F1 Academy, but also in terms of overcoming the challenges of living with JIA and not letting JIA be a barrier to following her dreams. 

Juvenile Arthritis Research Co-Founder and Volunteer, Rebecca Beesley, says “We are so excited about this partnership because Daniella represents so much of what we are all about at Juvenile Arthritis Research – bringing hope, inspiration and enabling children and young people to follow their dreams and not let their JIA stop them. Daniella is an absolutely incredible inspiration and we know that many others with JIA will be encouraged to dream big when they hear her story.”
