Mia's incredible fundraising
Mia, accompanied by her brother Max and cousins Aeva and Freya, recently raised a phenomenal £1,007.90 making her one of our top fundraisers of the year - for the second year running!
As well as events that she organised at her school, Mia also did a sponsored bike ride. We are so proud of her and all she has achieved in raising vital funds for Juvenile Arthritis Research, as well as helping to raise awareness that children get arthritis too.
Mia's school told us that "awareness is always part of the reason for Mia's fundraising ventures."
She even made it into her local newspaper, the Northern Echo, further helping to raise awareness amongst her community. Here at Juvenile Arthritis Research we always emphasise the importance of raising awareness and have it as one of our core aims. It is so important because it helps to reduce delays in diagnosis, but also helps people understand what children and young people have to go through with their JIA.
So a huge thank you to Mia, Max, Aeva and Freya and their family for the incredible fundraising you have done for Juvenile Arthritis Research. We know that living with JIA is not easy, yet you've managed to achieve so much despite painful days and challenges.
We are really proud of you - thank you and well done!
If you'd like to organise a fundraising event, please see our fundraising page and we also have information for schools available too. Make sure you get in touch to let us know what you are planning so that we can make sure you have everything you need to make your event a success.
