Certificates of appreciation for the volunteers at Juvenile Arthritis Research.

Volunteers' week

This week is Volunteers' Week and this year's theme is Celebrate and Inspire. So we’ll be surprising some of our volunteers with certificates and a little treat to say thank you for all they do.

Here’s what the organisers of Volunteers' Week have to say:

"Volunteers' Week takes place 1-7 June every year. It's a chance to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our communities and say thank you.

Volunteers' Week 2023 is a time to celebrate and inspire. We aim to highlight that our diversity is our strength, show that there's more than one way to volunteer and encourage people to be the change that we want to see.

Volunteers are always active at the heart of every UK community. So taking the time during Volunteers' Week to celebrate and recognise their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole have never been more important."

Juvenile Arthritis Research exists because of our volunteers. They enable us to do all that we do. Everyone in our core team is a volunteer and it is thanks to our volunteers that we are able to support so many families affected by Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.

We are so grateful to our amazing volunteers who give up so much of their time as well as often having to juggle their own full-time jobs, family life, and many have arthritis themselves or a child with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and yet they want to make a difference to others. They truly are an inspiration!

Here are some quotes from our wonderful volunteer team about what motivates them to volunteer with Juvenile Arthritis Research.

The quote reads "We volunteer as we don't want other children and families to feel alone when they are diagnosed with JIA. It is also a lovely feeling to know you can help people in some small way."

The quote reads "It can feel incredibly frightening when your child first receives a diagnosis of JIA and the support Juvenile Arthritis Research gave our daughter and our whole family made a real difference. To be able to help others in the same situation, even in a very small way, is an incredible privilege."
