Our aims

At Juvenile Arthritis Research (JAR) we have two aims:

1. To find a cure for juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

2. To help increase awareness that children and young people get arthritis.

Juvenile Arthritis Research (JAR) is a project supported by the Jabez Charitable Trust (Charity no. 1091620), and is run entirely from voluntary donations. We are searching for a cure for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, a crippling autoimmune disorder that affects 1 in every 1,000 children under the age of 16. Read more about our background...

The ultimate aim is to find a cure for JIA. Due to the overlapping nature of autoimmune disorders, it is likely that any cure for JIA will also have positive benefits for other related diseases. In targeting a final cure, a large and growing number of interim questions are being documented; many will hold clues to help find the cure.

We develop a deep and broad understanding of juvenile arthritis and how it attacks children and young people. We are fearless in our pursuit of a cure, and collaborative in our approach.
