Kyle's College Awareness Day and fundraiser

Kyle has been busy once again supporting Juvenile Arthritis Research and acting as an incredible advocate and ambassador raising awareness in his local community. 

You may remember Kyle from the previous fundraising live streaming that he did in support of Juvenile Arthritis Research last year. 

Last month to coincide with World yOung Rheumatic Diseases day (WORD day), Kyle organised an epic awareness and fundraising event at his college. With a fantastic cake sale and raffle he raised £121 to support our vital work. Well done and thank you Kyle! 

In addition to raising funds, Kyle also raised awareness by hosting this event. His friends and teachers supported the event and it is great to hear about schools and colleges getting involved in raising awareness like this; a huge shout out to Hills Road Sixth form college for their support. 

Kyle had a very busy month as he was also one of our incredibly inspirational young people on the WORD day webinar panel. Young people with various rheumatic conditions including JIA spoke of their struggles, strategies and successes. During the webinar Kyle mentions how he uses creativity such as writing poetry as a way to deal with the emotions of living with JIA. Kyle has written a powerful poem about methotrexate (which is a medication often used for JIA) that we shared previously.  Now Kyle has gone a step further and set up a blog to write about living with JIA which will become a place to share his creative writing and poetry.
